The Daily Drive “The Day The Earth Didnt Stand Still”

The Daily Drive is a daily (duh) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you.  Earthquakes are so 2010.

-So lets get this right out of the way.  An Earthquake hit Virgina today.  The world moved on.

-The NY Football Giants already depleted secondary lost yet another CB today.  After losing impact player Terrell Thomas last night to a torn ACL, they lost CB Brian Witherspoon to a torn ACL as well.  Somehow Papa Bear seems to think that this will not effect the Giants at all.  He won’t give me any facts to support this argument (or words on this site for that matter (Shots Fired Shots Fired!)), but he is deliriously confident in his team right now.

Daily Drive 8/3/2011

The Daily Drive is a daily (duh) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you.  Like what my prediction for the Eagles is this year……..19-0

-AHHH the glory!  A-Rod apparently got wrapped up in that super rich guy group of dudes that like to play Poker together.  My hope is that A-rod ultimately gets a life-time ban.  If Pete Rose can’t bet on the ponies, A-Roid can play Texas Hold Em with Jason Bourne and Spiderman!

-Osi Umenyiora was just told by the NY football Giants that he is no longer allowed to seek a trade.  Jesus a man hasn’t been jerked around like this since Larry Craig was hangin out in Minneapolis Airport. HIIIYOOO!

-Casey Anthony was spotted walking around downtown Columbus rockin a Ohio State hat.  No word on if she tried to get a free tattoo for “taking care” of some things for the artist.

The Daily Drive – 7/28/2011

The Daily Drive is a daily (duh) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you. Coach DaftPuck yelled at me last night for not posting anything. I went to my locker, cried a little (yeah the yelling was harsh), regrouped and boom Timmyp is back. Coach of the year: DaftPuck.

– Lots of big news type things happened since I last wrote a post on here. The NFL came back (like that’s a surprise). Carlos Beltran got traded (like that’s a surprise). Amy Winehouse died (totally not a surprise…side note: she was my number one pick in the death pool, yeah we do death pools, yeah we are scumbags: NBD).  However, the biggest news during my AWOL stint is that Jasmine Waltz washed her car in a bikini. Who is she????? I dunno and don’t feel like researching her. but WWTDD told me she has a sex tape out and that she dated David Arquette, sounds like she’s one to write home about.

– Ervin Santana threw a no-hitter yesterday. If you didn’t hear about this, then it’s my assumption you don’t watch sports often which makes you visiting this site very, very questionable.

– Albert Haynesworth is going to the Patriots, Reggie Bush to the Dolphins. Those are just two of the 4,556 (rough estimate) deals that have been made in the past 48 hours…yeah my head is exploding.

– We all love Green Man, but I feel as if this was scripted. However, the announcer really wants everyone to know it is Valeria’s birthday.

More treats after the jump.

Weekend Drivin

The Daily Drive is a daily (duh) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you.  For example: The average person spends 3 years of their life on the toilet.  Once again, I am above average.

-According to Fortune Magazine, Tiger Woods is apparently going broke.  I don’t know, when Fortune magazine is writing about how you ONLY got paid a couple million for doing some ad in Japan, that doesn’t really make me feel for EL Tigre. You want to know broke Tiger?  The lady at the Wendy’s Drive thru calls me by my first name.

– The Vanimal continued his Major League dominance last night as the Phil’s spanked the Mutts 7-2 at Shitty Field.  As Timmy mentioned yesterday, K-Rod is now gone, leaving me with one less Met to make fun of now.  The highlight of this story is that K-Rod apparently had a list of 10 teams that he didn’t want to be traded to, and the Brewers were one of them.  The Mets response?  “We didn’t know about a list.”  YOUR NEW YORK METS LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!

The Daily Drive – July 12th, 2011

The Daily Drive is a daily (duh) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you. Like a chicken tender that looks like a wee-wee!!

– The Home Run Derby was last night. Remember when we were little kids and the derby was exciting? Now a days I’m more entertained by a guy throwing a filthy cutter for nine innings. It’s sad. The only way to bring the derby back is to throw an aluminum bat in Big Papi’s hands. Sure a fan or two may die, but goddamn I’d be entertained. 470 feet? Yawn. We’d be looking at 570 footers. Boom.

– Ah the beauty of being fat….Tremendous commercial.

Little more after the jump.

The Daily Drive: Weekend Edition

The Daily Drive is a daily (were workin on it) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you.  We would love to share with you how Casey Anthony got away with murder, but our calls to OJ have gone unanswered.

As a peace offering we present to you: JWoww

-Weak week for the Daily Drive.  With Daft being distracted taking hipstamatic photos with his new Iphone, Papa Bear trying to find this kid a D1 college scholarship, and Timmy slingin’ cellie’s like a pre-paid bodega in Queens, we’ve all been a little distracted.  FEAR NOT!  I’m here to bring you a fully loaded version of WEEKEND DRIVIN.

-Lots of great news this week.  We can start with how A-Rod and Dereck Jeeeetah are skipping out on the All-Star game this year because of “injuries.”  I mean I can understand why Jeter wouldn’t want to go, but A-Rod probably just wants to do this instead.

Weekending.

Well hopefully you’re at Superball IX and your face is melting off or you’re sitting on sand looking out at the ocean with a Budweiser in your hand. Or you can be sitting at work like I am…..Yay! Here’s something to cheer you up if you’re in my position….But seriously….what the fuck is wrong with the world?

Normal….

Cool Version….

The Daily Drive – 6/30/2011

The Daily Drive is a daily (for lack of a better word) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you. Don’t expect any posts after Friday if Papa Bear doesn’t pay us. WE. DECLARE. LOCKOUT!

-As if my summer couldn’t get any better, the NBA and the NBAPA have not reached a labor agreement, and therefore will begin a lockout starting tomorrow. That sound you hear is Bill Simmons car running in the garage.

-Speaking of panic, Cole Hamels was injured in today’s loss to the Boston Red Sox. Good news for the Philadelphia Phillies: Brad Lidge has begun to make his way back to the mound. Also good for the Phils: You’re in the same division as the Florida Marlins, New York Mets and Washington Nationals. Ease up.

-Let’s just get all this Philadelphia talk out of the way early. Lot’s of talk about the Philadelphia Flyers thinking of presenting an offer sheet to Steven Stamkos. Puck Daddy breaks down all the likely scenarios. Spoiler Alert Flyer Faithful: He will resign in Tampa.

-Free Agency starts tomorrow for the NHL, and the Flyers could see some players leaving, such as Ville Leino (hopefully to the Avs.) One guy not on the market: Paul Kariya announced his retirement yesterday. Always one of my favorites in the early days of the NHL video game series.  (That link will bring you to a Canadian website. Act accordingly.)

New York Mets are on a roll, Derek Jeter is on his way back, and Charlie Sheen did steroids. Yawn. After the Jump. Read more of this post

The Daily Drive – 6/27/2011

The Daily Drive is a daily (when we feel like it) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you. Like how sad it is that people love nipple slips. I find a picture of a nice celebrity smiling for the paparazzi enjoying her life….and she is unaware her boobie is hanging out…Those rude paparazzi. (Kidding. They are the best people ever, I love a good slip)

Both Serena and Venus Williams lost at Wimbledon. Who cares? Well no one because it’s women’s sports, but we love hits at 90on95.com and apparently people on google are searching for it! Venus and Serena were so upset with their loses they had a backyard brawl to cheer themselves up.

– Slow day in sports unless you care about women’s soccer or tennis, but tomorrow two big interleague series start, both possible World Series previews. The Brewers travel to Yankee Stadium while the Phillies welcome Boston into the bank. We’ll have some previews tomorrow, but these teams could be the final four come October.

– The NHL draft was this weekend. The big news out of the draft is that the Winnipeg Jets are back. Glad to see Canada getting more hockey teams, it’s only a matter of time until the Bill Simmons plan of 15 teams in the USA and 15 in Canada comes true, then there will be a riot every year!

– Is it sad that is the only sports news that I could come up? It’s that time of the year I guess. However, they crowned the ugliest dog in world yesterday. Thrilling stuff.

– Lucy Pinder (if you don’t know her click more immediately) and some other stuff after the jump shot.

The Daily Drive 6/22/2011

The Daily Drive is a daily ( for the most part) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you.  We would love to share with you why Tony LaRussa took out a lefty and put in a righty to face Ryan Howard last night, but we have no fuckin idea.

-Following up on the Ryan Dunn story, apparently police found that his blood alcohol level was .196 and he was driving in excess of 130mph.  Thus completing the transition from Jackass—–>Murderer.  Sorry facts are facts.

-On a brighter note, the Phillies scored 9 runs in one inning last night.  With the game on the line Tony LaRussa took out his left handed reliever and replaced him with a righty who promptly hit Ryan Howard to start the rally.  No word on what his B.A.C was during the game.

-Donovan McNabb was back in Philadelphia for some charity event today and decided that he wanted to workout with some of his old teammates.  Gotta admit, Don Don was looking straight jacked.  Rumors that he blamed his benching in DC on Terrell Owens are unconfirmed.

-Tiki Barber was interviewed by Mike Francessa on WFAN today and things got interesting to say the least.  Mike called Tiki’s time at NBC a “failure” and said “he knows people at NBC that said he was entitled and did a bad job.”  This coming from a guy that does a 5 hour sports radio show by himself because nobody wanted to work with him anymore.  Keep drinking that Diet Pepsi Mike.
