The Tim Parker Super Bowl Post

The Super Bowl Yayyyy!!!!! Nothing beats seeing two teams I absolutely despise play each other in the biggest game of the season. Thanks to Tim Tebow using the power of the almighty Jesus Christ he beat a rapist and gave Tom Brady and his Pats had an easy road to the Super Bowl (did any one honestly think Shane Joe Falco Flacco could take a team to the Super Bowl???). Then there’s the Giants. They have been playing PERFECT football the past five weeks. Yes, perfect, much like the Patriots record in 2008 going into Super Bowl 42 against the same New York Giants. Despite my hatred for both these teams it should be an exciting game. Even if it isn’t I’ll have at least 40 buffalo wings and 24 Budweisers so I’ll be a winner come Sunday.

On to the keys to winning Super Bowl 46

NFL Picks: Divisional Round

Last Week: 2-2

Sooooooooo here’s all you need to know from the first round of the playoffs………the Falcons suck, the Texans-Bengals game was the most boring game I’ve ever seen (until the National Championship game of course), the Saints enjoy scoring as many points as possible and the most important thing, Tim Tebow is in fact Jesus Christ himself.

New Orleans (-3.5) San Francisco

When the lines first came out this week I looked at this one said haha Saints and moved on. Then I started to look into it a little bit more.  A lot of things point to the 49ers in this one. They play good defense, manage games well, and most importantly get to play the Saints at home. If this game was in New Orleans the Saints would be 8, maybe 9 point favorites. Take the Saints out of the SuperDome, I mean Mercedes-Benz Superdome or whatever the hell they are calling it and they are a very, very different team. The Saints went 5-3 on the road this year including loses to the Rams and Bucs, two of the worst teams in the league. The 49ers meanwhile went 7-1 at home losing only a heartbreaker to the Cowboys all the way back in week 2.

I doubt anyone read all that (I know we have been out of college a while so I wouldn’t expect anyone to be able to read more than 2 sentences anymore) but I’ve kind of managed to talk myself into the Niners. The Saints are realllllllllly good but on the road they scare me. Sure Alex Smith is playing QB and sure they have a rookie head coach, but I think their defense will step up and control the pass happy Saints.

I meant to somehow incorporate this picture...It's just too good.

49ers 23 Saints 20

UPDATE 2: Jets vs. Giants Preseason Game

The NFL has pulled the plug on the Jets vs. Giants preseason game because of this stupid bitch Irene. The game was originally moved from its 7 PM start to 2 PM,  but is now going to be played Monday Night at 7 PM.

Below a video that will make everyone happy!

UPDATE: Jets vs. Giants Preseason Game

This is got to hurt

Tomorrow’s Jets-Giants Preseason game has been moved up from its original 7 PM start to 2 PM because of that bitch Irene. Women always causing problems.

Osi to the Jets??

So after the Jets stole Plaxico away from New York Giants by the way of a couple voice-mails, it looks like they’re trying to take another stud away from The New York Giants. The Giants have lowered their offer for Osi Umenyiora to a 2nd Round pick from a 1st Round pick. The Patriots and Ravens are also interested in acquiring Osi’s *cough cough* talents.

The Jets need to make this move if only so that the Patriots or Ravens don’t get him. Plus the Jets have a horrible pass rush. They were T-8th in the league last year in sacks but that’s b/c they sent an 8-man rush every frickin time. They did draft two defensive lineman this year, except Kenrick Ellis might not even be able to join the team if he gets deported (No lie, he seriously might get deported because of an assault charge). Why would you not want to add a guy with 11.5 sacks and 10 forced fumbles last year. The Jets also just cleared up another $6 million in salary cap by signing David Harris to a 4 year deal (I have no idea how Magic Mike does this). This should be a no-brainer for the Jets, go get him.

UPDATE: Giants notified Osi and his agent that he is no longer allowed to seek a trade partner since the Giants cannot get a 1st Round Draft pick for Umenyiora (Thank you Mattern).

Do you think he left a cleveland steamer on all these girl's chest?

The Daily Drive – 6/17/2011

The Daily Drive is a daily (almost) post of all the prominent things going on in the sports world we didn’t cover, and anything else we might want to share with you. Where we would like to promise we will never tweet you a picture of our privates. Unless of course you ask. Or, you know, you’re smokin’ hot.

-INTERLEAGUE PLAY! The Philadelphia Phillies visit the Seattle Mariners this weekend, as TimmyP previews. The New York Yankees are visiting the Chicago Cubs, where they are currently losing 3-0 in the 8th. To the Cubs. I cannot stress that enough. As always, for a full recap of that game which should be over by the time this is posted, turn on a TV.

-You know it’s sad when a team as storied as the Cubs are having such an abysmal season that the Yankees visiting for meaningless interleague play is a hot story. Meanwhile, SIGN STEALING GATE! 2011! Both Andruw Jones and Mark Teixeira both deny they were stealing signs. Oh they denied it? Surely it must not have happened then.

-JC Romero, always a class act.

-Rory McIlroy killed it again on the links today. This is going to make his inevitable Sunday collapse even better.

David Tyree Hates Your Gay Wedding

Anyone paying attention to the news knows that New York recently approved a same-sex marraige bill. All of the major pundits are weighing in, and you’re bound to hear lot’s of opinions and thoughts from lots of experts. But who the fuck wants to listen to them when some washed up NFL “star” can give you the straight facts. Give me a new meaning for the term “helmet grab”, CNN:

Former New York Giants receiver David Tyree’s celebrated catch in the closing seconds of Super Bowl XLII was pivotal to his team’s victory. Now out of football, he is trying to claim a last-minute win over another foe — same-sex marriage.

The bill’s passage would “be the beginning of our country sliding toward … anarchy,” he said (via CNN)

Yeah, if gays could get married in New York State, that would be the beginning of the end. I’ve seen a bum take a shit in a subway station, a guy getting a Beej on a street corner, and I’ve had an old man try to grope me on a subway car. Something tells me the State of New York is going to be OK.

More from the Giant receiver, after the jump. Read more of this post

The Royal Wedding!

I am just soooo excited about the Royal Wedding that I had to write about it as soon as possible.  Did you see Kate’s dress? Unbelievable. So traditional/elegant and she just looked stunning in it!  And Prince Charming (oops!) I mean William well wow he just looked dazzling in that red suit he was wearing.  Wait a minute I don’t have a va-jay-jay and do not care about some stupid goddamn wedding going on in another country.  Lets move on with our lives people (I should say women, or at least 99% women and 1% other).  There are more important things then watching two people you know absolutely nothing about get married.  Like the first round of the NFL draft of course!

Best Wedding Picture Ever

Breakdown of the Giants/Jets/Eagles/Dolphins (Yes I like the Dolphins so I’ll include them) first round picks after the jump.
